The clip states the position simply: Sunday blue laws are opposed, and coercion in worship is rejected. That is not an improvised answer for social media. It is the published position of a denomination, issued in writing three days after the proposal it answers.

The document being answered is a Heritage Foundation special report published on 8 January 2026, which asks states and municipalities to restrict commercial activity on Sunday. The phrase "uniform day of rest" is theirs. It is worth reading before reading anyone's reply to it.
This site is not published by that church, and no denomination speaks for it. The statement is recorded here for the same reason every other entry is recorded: because it is part of the public record, because it is dated, and because anyone can set it beside the document it answers and judge for himself.
The objection it raises is the one this whole page exists to keep in view. A law that names a day does not have to compel worship in order to injure conscience. It only has to make the observance of another day expensive.
